We are a team of developers, integrators and consultants that has been helping Magento stores grow since 2008.
Magmi was born in 2008 as an internal SoftArch Consulting script for a client selling car parts — 450,000 SKUs, where every nightly import to the native Magento Dataflow took 30+ hours. Six weeks later Dweeves (the project’s founder) demoed the script at Magento Imagine; within a month it had passed 1,000 downloads, and within a year Magmi had become the de-facto standard for mass import in Magento 1.
Today Magmi is an open-source project with a long history, an active community and more than 60 official plugins. We maintain the core, keep the documentation current and help stores roll it out — from small fashion boutiques to wholesale marketplaces with millions of SKUs.
“Make working with data in Magento simple enough that merchants can focus on selling, not on import/export.”
Rohan Patel — Head of E-commerce, Fashion&Co
Isabella Romano — Marketing Director, BeautyStore
Thomas Beckett — CTO, ElectroShop
Openness. All code lives in a public repository. Anyone can inspect it, propose a change or fork it.
Speed. If an import can be made twice as fast, we make it twice as fast.
Simplicity. One CSV, one click, one cron line. No required SaaS accounts.
Reliability. 99.9% of imports succeed with zero data loss and no rollback needed.
